A UPSC aspirant had cleared the prelims but was unsuccessful in the mains, and filed a petition in the Delhi HC, seeking to disclose the UPSC Answer Sheet. However, on June 14, the court ruled that the answer sheets could be disclosed only if it is in the public interest, which the petitioner failed. The bench also cited previous judgments and emphasised that public interest must be established for such disclosure.

Kerala government sought the state High Court on August 19 to overturn bail granted to writer and social critic Civic Chandran in sexual harassment case brought by Dalit writer. Karnataka High Court disbanded Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on August 11 and reassigned all pending proceedings before the ACB to Lokayukta Police division. The ACB was established in 2016 by the Siddaramaiah cabinet to limit the powers of Lokayukta. Karnataka High Court ordered authorities to closely enforce the "Licensing and Regulation of Protests, Demonstrations and Protest Marches (Bengaluru City) Orders 2021" in order to resolve public interest litigation. The Karnataka Police Act directives limit demonstrations in Bengaluru to "Freedom Park." After protests and rallies on March 2, last year created huge traffic problems in the city, the court began the PIL on its own. 

Anti-Conversion Bill debate resumed in Karnataka, with High Court (HC) approving PIL and sending notice to ruling BJP to issue ordinance to enforce legislation. HC asked government to file objections to PIL contesting government's decision on July 22.
