Traffic On Chandigarh-Manali Highway Halted Due To Landslide

A significant landslide struck at 7 Mile, a few kilometers ahead of Mandi town toward Kullu on August 5, blocking traffic on the Chandigarh-Manali highway during heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh. The district government rerouted light vehicles traveling from Chandigarh to Kullu-Manali through Kataula in order to clear traffic. Srinagar-Jammu National Highway Reopens For Stranded Vehicles

A one-way traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway was resumed for stranded vehicles from Jammu towards Srinagar on January 24, after remaining closed for two days, due to landslide and shooting stones. The highway remained shut on January 23 after inclement weather, and took time in restoration as a loaded truck was stuck in mudslide. Following clearance, traffic was resumed for stranded vehicles after the hectic efforts of Traffic Police.

Jammu-Srinagar Highway & Other Roads Closes Amid Landslide, Mudslide

Following landslides, mudslides and shooting stones at some places, 270-km Jammu-Srinagar highway, which connects Kashmir with the outside world, remained closed, said officials on January 6. The 'efforts to restore the traffic' are underway, as authorities were clearing snow accumulations. Other roads include, Mughal road, Srinagar-Leh highway, & Sinthan road also remained closed due to snow accumulation.

1 Killed In Accident At Banihal, Around Dozen Others Injured: J&K

In a tragic accident, one person was killed while around a dozen others were injured in an accident at 'Navyug Tunnel' in Jammu and Kashmir's Banihal area. A tourist bus bearing registration number JK02AT-6530 collided with another vehicle inside a tunnel, resulting in death of a person and injuries to around eleven others. Among the injured persons, three have been shifted to Anantnag, while others are undergoing treatment at Banihal.

Goa CM Announces Electric Mobility Promotion Policy 2021

Goa Government on December 4, announced Goa Electric Mobility Promotion Policy 2021 for the next five years. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, the policy will help to generate 10,000 new jobs in the state and also encourage investment. For every 25 km on the highway there will reportedly be charging stations and for every 3 km in the city. About 50 stations will be installed within 3 months, he added.

340 Km Long Purvanchal Express Highway To Be Launched By PM Modi Next Week

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the 340 km long Purvanchal Express highway next week, said Uttar Pradesh's industrial development minister Satish Mahana. The expressway would start from Lucknow's Chand Sarai village and end in Ghazipur's Haidariya village. The project of the expressway reportedly costed around Rs 22,494.66 crore. Notably, the expressway can also be used by Indian Air Force for landing aircrafts.

404 KM Highway Connecting Rajasthan, MP & UP Gets Approved: Atal Pragati Path

A 404km long highway Atal Pragati Path connecting Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh got approved by the state cabinet on October 5 stated by Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra. However, the highway will be developed by the National Highways Authority of India and 313 km of highway will pass through Sheopur, Morena, and Bhind. Also, for Indore Dugdh Sangh's milk powder plant, Rs 50 crore has been approved.

Protesting Farmers Refused To Attend Meeting Convened By Haryana Govt

The protesting farmers have refused to attend a meeting to be convened on September 19 by the Haryana government to discuss the opening of border passage to Delhi. Since November 2020, farmers near the Singhu and Tikri border have been blocking the highway (NH-44) in protest of the new agricultural laws enacted by the center. Besides, farmers blamed Delhi police for obstructing access to the city's highways through barricading.

Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway Open For Public Between 8 AM-5 PM

The Rishikesh-Badrinath highway is now open for the public after it was closed due to heavy rainfall, the District administration of Tehri confirmed on September 2. Earlier on August 27, Ashish Shrivastava, DM of Devprayag, issued an order to close the route between Tapovan and Devprayag owing to debris caused by heavy rains. Vehicles are now allowed to commute from 8 am-5 pm.
