Government Waives Off Toll Fee For Oxygen Tankers On Highways
The Centre has waived off toll fee for tankers and vehicles carrying liquid medical oxygen across all the national highways. According to the National Highways Authority of India, oxygen containers and ambulances will be given utmost priority for the next two months. "The timely delivery of LMO (liquid medical oxygen) to hospitals and medical centres is of paramount importance to save lives," said NHAI.

Government Allots Highway Projects Worth Over Rs 6000-Cr
The Centre has approved highway projects focusing on seven states and union territories including Maharashtra, Assam and Ladakh. According to the Road Transport Ministry, a project costing Rs 810 crore has been approved in Andhra Pradesh and Ladakh gets projects worth Rs 779 crore. Meanwhile, Maharashtra and Assam get development projects worth Rs 2,000 crore and Rs 1,259 crore respectively.

Delhi-Meerut Expressway Open For Traffic, Cuts Travel Time To 45 Mins
Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on April 1 announced the opening of 'Delhi Meerut Expressway' for common traffic. Notably, the 14-lane expressway will reduce the travel time from Meerut to Delhi to just 45 minutes. Earlier, it used to take over 2.5 hours for the journey. 2,921 Km Roads Constructed under 'Bharatmala Pariyojana': MoRTH Data
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved 322 projects (According to data till August 2020) under the 'Bharatmala Pariyojana' programme, which aims at the improvement of highways. Notice Issued to Environment Ministry, NHAI Over EIA Exemption to Highways
Karnataka High Court on September 26 issued a notice to the Union Environment Ministry and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). 'Vehicle Scrappage' Policy to be Rolled Out by September End: Nitin Gadkari
