In Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district, a tragic accident was reported, which killed seven people, and left 10 seriously injured. The incident which occurred at 12:45 am, on September 26, was confirmed the Kullu Police, who launched a rescue operation and shifted the injured to the Kullu district hospital for treatment. Review meeting were held by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to discuss the preparedness for the upcoming elections in Himachal Pradesh. The review meetings were held with Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, IG, DIG, CAPF and Nodal officers of 12 districts. “Today we held a meeting with all political parties,” said Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar.

A rail car derailed on the World Heritage Kalka-Shimla route at about 11:00 a.m., resulting in the cancellation of two trains' rail services on August 28. A train car traveling from Kalka to Shimla derailed at Shimla between the Tara Devi and Shoghi railway sections. The rail vehicle had eight people, all of whom were declared safe. In Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district, a landslide caused by heavy rains has resulted in the collapsing of a house, on August 20. The incident occurred at around 4:30 am in Chowari tehsil’s Barnet village, and has left three persons missing. A search operation has been initiated to rescue to missing persons. Meanwhile, flash floods occurred in Mandi district, causing water to enter into residents, shops and other buildings.
The Chakki bridge in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district fell on August 20, according to the Additional District Magistrate. The Mandi area saw flash floods in the early hours of August 20. Rifleman Yogesh Kumar, on duty in the Indian Army, has shot himself dead at Kullian camp in Miran Sahib area. Kumar, a resident of Himachal Pradesh, died on the spot, and was later taken to a hospital for post-mortem. The incident occured in the outskirts of the city.
