In a fake degree scam, the Enforcement Directorate has attached the assets of Solan-based Manav Bharti University (MBU) in Himachal Pradesh. Valued over Rs 194 crore, the assets include land, residential and commercial properties. Animal Husbandry Minister Sanjeev Balyan on January 6 said the spreading bird flu could be transmitted to human however no such case has been reported in the country. Nearly 300 tourists have been rescued near the world's longest Atal Tunnel at Rohtang after heavy snowfall blocked the tunnel. The Lahaul-Spiti Police, with the help of Kullu police, has sent around 70 vehicles to rescue the travellers. Reportedly, the rescue operations began in the evening of January 2, and continued till the wee hours of January 3. Moreover, the meteorological department has warned heavy snowfall in the upcoming days.
