Minority Status To Hindus: SC Gives 3 Months Time To Centre To Hold Consultations

Centre has been given three months of time to hold consultations with various state governments, in the matter of granting "minority status" to Hindus in certain states, by Supreme Court on May 10. SC bench headed by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul stated that the consultations should have been held before filing the affidavit. The issue is regarding issuing minority status to Hindus in states highly populous with other communities.

Hindu Girl Shot Dead In Pakistan's Sindh Province

A Hindu girl, Pooja Oad (18) was shot dead in Rohi area of  Sukkur region in Pakistan's Sindh province, confirmed  media on March 22.  It is said to be a case of abduction and was shot dead when she was resisting her attackers. Human rights organisations condemned the death and said this is not the first such incident. Many Hindu, christian  were forced to turn into Islam every year.

Pakistan Police Arrest 10 More In Temple Attack Case; Total 55 Arrested

In the temple vandalisation case in Pakistan, the police have arrested 10 more people, taking the total arrest count to 55. Registering an FIR against 350 people, the authorities are looking for other offenders as well. Pakistan: Religious Council Advises PM to Allow Construction of Hindu Temple in Islamabad

A cleric-council in Pakistan gave nod to construction of a temple in Islamabad and warned against utilisation of public funds for it’s construction. The decision came after PM Imran ordered to stop construction in June and asked cleric-council to take a call. Earlier, some radical-Muslims had threatened the government, calling it a 'blasphemy'.
