Balwant Moreshwar Purandare, renowned historian and Padma Vibhushan awardee, passed away on November 15 at a Pune hospital after a brief sickness. He was brought to the city's Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital three days ago, for pneumonia treatment. Renowned Historian Vishwa Nath Datta Passes Away At 94
Renowned historian Vishwa Nath Datta passed away at the age of 94 on November 30 at his residence in New Delhi. He was a Professor Emeritus (retired) at Kurukshetra University and had served as General President of the Indian History Congress as well. Datta had authored on several topics of Indian history including the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919, which was the first book on the incident.
