Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship Starts In Goa
Twelfth Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship starts on May 4 in Goa. A total of 29 will be fighting during Eight days of Pool Matches. Quarter-Finals on May 12, Semi-Finals on May 14, and Medel Matches are scheduled on May 15. Participating teams are divided into eight pools. Members and Coaches of each team are working hard and are excited about the Championship.

Indian Olympic Association Chief Accused Of 'Diversion' Of Money; CBI Launches Probe
Narinder Batra, chief of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and the president of International Hockey Federation, has been accused for diversion of funds. Reportedly, Batra diverted Rs 35 lakh of the Indian Hockey funds for his personal benefit. The CBI lodged a preliminary inquiry against Batra, on April 6. Batra is expected to be summoned by CBI for further investigation.

Tokyo Olympics: Indian Women's Hockey Team Loses Bronze To Britain
India loses the bronze medal 3-4 against Great Britain in women's hockey in the Tokyo Olympics. While it was the goalkeeper Savita who was the star of the team in the first quarter, saving two penalty corners, and three field goals attempts, drag-flicker Gurjit Kaur came to play in the second quarter. Grace Balsdon scored a match-winning goal in the fourth quarter.

Tokyo Olympics: 'Chak De India' All Over As India Wins Historic Bronze In Hockey
India sealed a 5-4 win against Germany in the men's hockey clinching a bronze medal at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics on August 5. Simranjeet Singh scored two goals for India at the Oi Hockey Stadium, along with Hardik Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, and Rupinder Pal Singh also adding their names on the scoresheet. The win also helped the Indian men's hockey team end their 41-year medal wait at the Olympics.

India V/s Germany: Men's Hockey Tournament For Bronze Medal At Tokyo Olympics
India men’s hockey team will challenge Germany on August 5 for the Bronze medal match after Germany was defeated by Australia by 3-1. Australian player Tim Brand scored a goal within seven minutes of the match. Although Germany made use of the penalty corner when Lukas Windfeder scored a goal, however, it was not enough to defeat Australia. Australia will be playing against Belgium for the gold medal on August 5.

Tokyo Olympics: Indian Men's Hockey Team Enters Semi-Finals After 41 Yrs
In what is exclaimed as history, the Indian Men's Hockey team qualifies for the semi-finals after a long wait of 41 years. India secured 3-1 beating Britain to enter the semi-finals. The last time India entered into semis was in the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Dilpreet Singh, Gurjeet Singh, and Hardik Singh brought India closer to the win. Meanwhile, the country will face Belgium in the semi-finals.

Tokyo Olympics: India Starts Hockey Campaign On Winning Note
India’s hockey team has defeated New Zealand by 3-2, making a place for their team in Toyko Olympics’ next match. Harmanpreet Singh scored a doubler striking at 26th and 33rd minute while Rupinder Pal Singh scored a goal for the team. Though New Zealand scored 2 goals, they couldn’t afford to take their team over the line. Besides, India is all set to play their next match with Australia on July 25.

Sole Survivor Of 1948 & 1952 Hockey Olympics, Keshav Datt Passes Away
Hockey legend Keshav Datt, who won Gold-medal two times in the Olympics, has passed away on July 7. The 95-year-old suffered age-related issues and is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter. "He was the lone surviving member of the 1948 and 1952 Olympic Games and today truly feels like the end of an era," said Hockey India President Gyanendro Ningombam.

Tokyo Olympics: Indian Hockey Team Enders For Medal Says Coach
Former center-forward and current assistant coach of the Indian hockey team Shivendra Singh said that the Indian team is among the top teams to bag a medal in Tokyo Olympics. Singh also said, “Our focus is on the overall speed, sharpness, skill, and agility of the team to ensure that they arrive in Tokyo in peak condition.”

Former Hockey Coach, Olympic Gold Medallist MK Kaushik Dies Of COVID
Former Indian hockey coach and a gold medallist at the 1980 Moscow Olympics passed away of COVID-19 on May 8. The 66-year-old was hospitalised since April 24 after testing COVID-19 positive on April 17. He had coached the men’s hockey team that had won a gold medal in the 1998 Asian Games and women's team that clinched bronze medal at the 2006 Doha Asian Games.
