Honda India Talent Hunt Resumes With Round 3; Aspiring Racers Compete In Hyderabad
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd resumed the Honda India Talent Hunt by conducting round three. After going through rigourous levels of tests, eight riders from six cities competed in round three, in Hyderabad. Reportedly, all the riders were aged 16-17. Senior Vice President Prabhu Nagraj said, this "is a platform developed by Honda that gives an avenue to aspiring racers from all over India".

Honda's Operations Manufacturing Head Navid Talib To Resign Soon
In a big jolt to Honda, Navid Talib, head of operations manufacturing and planning strategy at Honda Cars India, has reportedly decided to say goodbye to the company on December 25, 2021. He's expected to join the electric business unit of Hero Motor Company as a President and COO, reported ETAuto. Talib started his career with Honda in Japan and has been associated with it since 2000.

Honda Records 30% Lower Profits Due To Silicon Chip Shortage
Honda Motor Company, on November 5, recorded its lower profit margin due to the "silicon chip shortage" globally. Reportedly, the Japanese automaker had to lower its production of vehicles causing loss in the overall profit upto 30%. Moreover, the company said that the profit fell by almost a third, to 198.9 billion Yen for three months. "The result was higher than an average forecast of 183.5 billion," said the company.

Two-Wheeler Honda Motors Registers 18% Growth In Domestic Sale
Amid the festive season in August 2021, Honda 2-Wheelers India registered a growth rate of 18% in comparison to the previous month. Reportedly, Honda sold 4,01,469 units in the domestic market in August while in July 2021 the company sold 3,40,420 units. ''The month of August ushers the onset of the festival spirit in India...We're cautiously optimistic moving forward,'' said Yadvinder Singh, Director of sales & marketing.

The deliveries of Honda's flagship motorcycle Gold Wing Tour has commenced in India. Reportedly, the first batch of motorcycles was booked within 24 hours after the booking opened. The bike offers a 1,833 cc, BS-VI engine that generates 124.4 bhp. Besides, it has full-LED lighting, USB Type-C ports, an audio system, etc. The manual variant costs Rs 37,20,342 and DCT version comes at Rs 39,16,055 (ex-showroom).

Honda Aims For Complete Transition To Electric Vehicles By 2040
Honda CEO Toshihiro Mibe has stated that the company eyes a complete shift from fossil fuel-based vehicles to electric cars by 2040. Reportedly, the Japanese carmaker will attempt to reach 40% of its overall sales via electric vehicles by 2030, 80% by 2035 and eventually reach complete transition by 2040. Mibe also said that Honda will strive to lead advancements in mobility, power unit, energy and robotics.
