Former MP CM Kamal Nath has been asked by the Special Investigation Team to submit the 'honeytrap' pen drive which he claimed to possess. Citing the pen drive as "extremely important evidence", the SIT asked Nath to be present on June 2 for evidence-submission and recording his statement. However, Nath now denied of possessing any evidence and said the pen drive is with several journalists and circulated widely in MP.

The Madhya Pradesh BJP has accused former CM Kamal Nath of "blackmailing" after the latter made explosive claims of possessing video clips of 2019 honey-trap scandal. Alleging Kamal Nath of threatening, BJP state president VD Sharma said, "If he has proof against any politician or officer, why did he not take any action..." However, the former CM added, "Many journalists and others have a pen drive of the honey-trap scandal."
