A massive fire broke out in the newly constructed building of Karthikeya hospital in Renigunta, situated in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati, on September 25. Two children identified as Siddhartha Reddy (12) and Kartika (6) succumbed to the injuries. The incident reportedly occurred due to an electrical short circuit. Meanwhile, fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire. Further details on the matter are awaited.

In another tragic incident, four patients admitted at a private hospital in Maharashtra's Thane died after a fire broke out in the early hours of April 28. As per sources, none of the patients, including the deceased ones, have contracted COVID-19 and the survivors have been evacuated. The government announced to pay a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of deceased while Rs one lakh to the injured.

A fire outbreak in Nagpur's private hospital has killed four people, injuring some others on April 9. Reportedly, the fire broke out on the second floor of the hospital around 8:10 PM from an air conditioner unit in the ICU.
