J&K: Newborn Girl Discovered Alive After Being Buried Dies In Hospital

A newborn girl was proclaimed dead on May 24 at a hospital in Ramban, Jammu & Kashmir, shortly after her birth. However, she was discovered alive, an hour after her burial but died at the hospital. Plane Crash In South China's Chongqing Injures 25 People

Passenger train crashed at runway in China, injuring 25 people after it caught fire while taking off. Happened on May 11, the flight was taking off from Chongqing Airport. The Tibet Airlines carrying 113 passengers and nine crew members. Furthermore, all the people on board were evacuated and injured were rushed to a hospital for treatment. As per sources, the cause of fire is yet to be known.

Nurse Found Hanging After Alleged Rape In Hospital At UP's Unnao District

At the New Jeevan hospital in UP's Unnao district, the body of a nurse was found hanging, on May 1. The family of the victim has alleged that she was gang-raped, and an FIR has been filed against three persons. Also, the family of the victim said, the nurse joined the hospital just a day before the incident. The body has been sent for post-mortem and further details are awaited.

Patient Attacks Doctor With Scissor In ICU: Delhi

In a shocking incident, a patient (40) attacked a doctor with a pair of scissors in an ICU, in Tilak Nagar, West Delhi. Happened on April, 15, the doctor escaped the spot with minor injuries and no case has been registered against the accused patient. As per PTI, the patient was admitted to get rid of alcohol addiction and was rigid to leave the hospital, hence attacked the doctor.

Subhas Bhowmick (72), India's former footballer breathed his last in a hospital on January 22, after a prolonged illness, hospital sources confirmed. Bhowmick was popularly known as 'Bhombolda', who was a striker and played for East Bengal, represented India in several international tournaments, and coached several clubs. He was hospitalized with diabetic problems and kidney ailments, before he passed away.

Lata Mangeshkar Under Supervision For Few More Days, Still In ICU

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar will still remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for few more days, under the supervision of doctors, said doctors on January 16. Mangeshkar was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai last week after tested COVID-19 positive and is undergoing treatment for coronavirus as well as pneumonia. 42 Staff Members Of Srinagar Medical College Test COVID-19 Positive

Amid spike in COVID-19 cases, 42 doctors and paramedics of the Government Medical College Srinagar tested COVID-19 positive taking tally there to 249 in 15 days. According to officials, a majority of staff are isolated. Principal of the Medical College has however said that hospital will continue to run as normal on January 17, as authorities decided to keep all the hospitals under its control for patient-care.

Hospital 'Forces Out' Kid Who Then Dies; Owner Detained

Following the death of a child after "forcing a pair of twins out" over alleged altercation on bills, Bangladesh's Rapid Action Batallion detained owner of a private hospital, on January 7. The mother of duo, brought charges against hospital, after her son died, following which accused was detained. An official in the hospital, however, denied the charges and said, "Ayesha had taken the twins away, of her own free will."

Over 1 Lakh People Hospitalized With Covid-19 In US: Data

According to a latest data from the US Department of Health and Human Services, more than one lakh people have been hospitalized with Covid-19, for the first time in nearly four months. The record of hospitalizations reached a high of more than 142,000 about a year ago, on January 14, 2021, and last topped 100,000 on September 11. The states are also reporting surges in the number of children hospitalized.
