Assam: Hindustan Paper Corporation Works Out Relief Package For Laid-off Workers
After the Cachar Paper Mill and the Nagaon Paper Mill in Assam were taken down in October 2017, an Agreement was finally shook between the State Government and the Hindustan Paper Corporation. They agreed to compensate the laid off workers with a relief package of Rs 570 Crores while the mills will remain under the State government. The Agreement also seizes to provide full time employment opportunity to ex-employees.

Government Increases Ethanol Price By Upto Rs 3.34/Litre
The government has increased the sugarcane-extracted ethanol price by upto Rs 3.34 per litre, effective from December 2020 as oil-marketing companies are eyeing to procure 465 crore litres of eco-friendly ethanol for 2020-21. The price hike will help sugarcane-farmers sell produce more efficiently. India, which imports 85% of its oil requirements, dopes 10% ethanol to ease import dependency.
