Human Milk Can Be Used To Treat Infections In Newborn
According to the researchers, Human Milk Oligosaccharides, "which are short strings of sugar molecules found in breast milk" have been proven to be effective in preventing Group B Streptococcus (GBS) infections in human cells and tissues. GBS is a major cause of blood infections and stillbirth in infants. Although antibiotics are regularly used to treat or prevent GBS infections, the bacteria are growing more resistant.
