Govt Approves 850 MW Ratle Power Project On Chenab River In J&K
Despite Pakistan’s objection, the Centre on January 20 approved the 850-megawatt Ratle hydro-power project on the river Chenab in J&K. Kerala Electricity Board Uproots Trees for Hydro Project; Kadars Continue Agitation
Amid consistent protests for community rights by Kadars (a tribal group), Kerala Electricity Board has started felling eight-hectares forest for Anakkayam Hydropower project. J&K: Ratle Hydroelectric Project To Be Developed Through Joint Venture
The Ratle hydroelectric power project in Jammu and Kashmir has been proposed to be developed through a joint venture. A recommendation from the Public Investment Board of the Finance Ministry has also asked for an investment of Rs 5,281.94 crore for the 850 MW project. Reportedly, the joint venture will be named as Jammu Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited. The project will boost the economy of J&K, said an official spokesperson.
