ED Conducts Multiple Raids In WB, Jharkhand And Bihar In Land Scam
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted multiple raids at locations in Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal in connection with IAS Chhavi Ranjan. Notably, the IAS officer is involved in a land scam, which is being probed by the ED under the PMLA. Posted as Social Welfare Department Officer, the 2011 IAS Batch Officer, was alledly being investigated in a land scam, in which CM Hemant Sorani and other ministers are involved.

Bihar excise principal secretary KK Pathak was caught on camera hurling abuses in an official meeting as he was livid over people of the city not following traffic rules. The video went viral on social media, gaining criticism from netizens. Ajay Kumar Bhalla Given Extension As Union Home Secretary
Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla has been given one-year extension in service, on August 19. With the extended term, Bhalla, a 1984-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, will serve till August 22, 2023. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extension and issued an order in this regard.

Arvind Kejriwal Orders State-Run Sports Facility To Be Open Till Late
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal ordered all the government-run sports facilities to remain functional for athletes till 10 pm. On May 26, Kejriwal reacted to a story of "The Indian Express" with the headline "Stadium is emptied, athletes told to leave so that IAS officer can walk a dog. Notably, Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia issued an order through tweet, directing all sports facilities to be open till 10 pm.

IAS Officer K Rajesh Booked For Corruption; CBI Conducts Raids At His Premises
After lodging a corruption case against Gujarat cadre IAS officer K Rajesh, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids at his premises, on May 20. Reportedly, Rajesh allegedly collected bribe while issuing arms licenses. CBI stated that a cloth merchant who received bribe on behalf of Rajesh, has already been arrested. The raids were carried out at his premises in Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.

Former Finance Secretary Rajiv Kumar To Take Over As New Chief Election Commissioner
Rajiv Kumar, former finance secretary, will take over as the new chief election commissioner on May 15. He takes over the top post from Sushil Chandra. Chandra's tenure will end on May 14. Rajiv Kumar is an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 batch. He has served in a number of ministries at the federal level as well as in his home states of Bihar and Jharkhand.

Vikas Kumar Takes Charge As DMRC Managing Director: Delhi
IAS officer Vikas Kumar is the new Managing Director of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), taking office charges from April 1. AAP-led Delhi government appointed Kumar, who replaced Mangu Singh, whose term ended on March 31. Notably, Kumar, who held the position of the Director (Operations) in the DMRC, has over 30 years of experience in rail-based urban transportation projects and has worked with the Railways prior to DMRC.

Senior IAS Officer Vinod Kumar Dismissed Over Corruption Charges: Odisha Govt
Senior IAS officer Vinod Kumar was dismissed from duty by Odisha Government over corruption charges, on February 3. A statement from the CMO mentioned that after receiving approval from the centre, the 1989 batch IAS officer was dismissed. According to the statement, in 1999, Kumar approved loans anointing to Rs 33.34 crore to fake private firms. Reportedly, out of 27 corruption cases filed against him, he was convicted in two.
