Senior IAS Officer Vinod Kumar Dismissed Over Corruption Charges: Odisha Govt
Senior IAS officer Vinod Kumar was dismissed from duty by Odisha Government over corruption charges, on February 3. A statement from the CMO mentioned that after receiving approval from the centre, the 1989 batch IAS officer was dismissed. According to the statement, in 1999, Kumar approved loans anointing to Rs 33.34 crore to fake private firms. Reportedly, out of 27 corruption cases filed against him, he was convicted in two.

IAS Officer Leads Environment Campaign: Tamil Nadu
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has started a two-month awareness campaign on single-use plastics, which is co-organized by GIZ, UNEP, FICCI, and MOEFCC. The campaign is headed by Supriya Sahu in Tamil Nadu who is the principal secretary in department of environment. She had banned the usage of plastics in the Nilgiris and stated that unclogging of river water is the need for hour.

Patna Police Refuses To Register FIR Against Bihar CM: IAS Officer
Sudhir Kumar, an IAS officer has alleged that Patan police has refused to lodge an FIR two times against Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and other top officials for falsely framing him into a fake scam on July 17. Reportedly, the officer spent three years in jail over Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) Scam case. However, no response is reported from CMO as the case is in court.

Ex-UP Chief Secy Anup Chandra Appointed As Election Commissioner
Former Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Anup Chandra Pandey, has been appointed as the Election Commissioner on June 8. A 1984 batch IAS officer, Pandey had retired in 2019 from the service. He will fill the post which became vacant due to Sushil Chandra's promotion to the Chief Election Commissioner post. Pandey will now accompany Rajiv Kumar who is the second Election Commissioner in the 3-member poll panel.

EC Halts Transfer Of IAS, State Services Officers In Poll-Bound Assam
Ahead of the Assam assembly polls, the Election Commission on February 26 directed the state government to revoke the transfer of 12 IAS and six Assam Police Services officers. Reportedly, the Assam Government order came after EC declared the dates that lead to immediate enforcement of the Moral Code of Conduct.
