Iga Swiatek Withdraws From Berlin Open Due To Shoulder Problem
Iga Swiatek, world No. 1 and current French Open champion, withdrew from Berlin Open on June 10 due to a shoulder ailment. She expects to be completely prepared for Wimbledon, which begins later this month. Swiatek won the French Open final against American Coco Gauff. This was her second Roland Garros trophy, after winning in Paris in 2020. Swaiatek's victory streak now stands at 35 games, matching Venus Williams' record.

Polish President Andrzej Duda Quarantined After Testing Positive For COVID-19
The Polish Presidential minister Blazej Spychalski confirmed that country's President Andrzej Duda tested positive for the COVID-19. He added that the 48-year-old is quarantined and is under medical observation. The French Open title winner Iga Swiatek has quarantined herself as she met President Duda on October 23 for the Gold Cross of Merit award. A total of 228,318 cases have been reported in the country, till now.

French Open Women's Singles: Iga Swiatek Becomes First Polish to Win a Grand Slam
Iga Swiatek outlasted Sofia Kenin 6-4, 6-1 in the finals of the French Open to become the first Polish to win a Grand Slam title. Though Iga stumbled slightly at the beginning, she gradually gained pace to take down the American, who was hampered by a thigh injury. The 19-year-old Iga Swiatek, is also the lowest-ranked woman to win the title and had earlier won a junior grand slam.

French Open: Top Seeded Simona Halep Loses To Teenager Iga Swiatek
The 19-year-old Polish Iga Swiatek knocked out Romanian top seed Simona Halep 6-1, 6-2 in the fourth round of French Open on October 4. The teenager who was ranked 54, was dominated by Halep last year in the same stage. Swiatek, after victory, said, "I felt like I was playing perfectly and I was so focused that even I am surprised that I can do that."
