 IIT-Madras Honours Its Alumini Who Was Part Of The Historic Chandrayan -3 Mission

In this event 'Over the Moon with Team Chandrayaan 3'  held in campus on Sunday, top scientists and engineers from ISRO interacted with students from IIT Madras and various government schools and city college students. During the occasion many scientists including Dr. S.Unnikrishnan Nair who completed PhD from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and is the Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre(VSSC), ISRO.

IIT Madras Student Allegedly Commits Suicide

In Tamil Nadu's IIT Madras, a third-year B.tech student allegedly committed suicide, confirmed sources on March 14.  Identified as Pushpak, a native of Andhra Pradesh died by hanging himself from the ceiling. The incident allegedly happened exactly a month after another IIT Madras student died by suicide in his hostel room. The police has registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.

First 5G Call In India Tested At IIT Madras Using Domestically Created Technology

Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology, placed the first 5G call on a trial network put up at IIT Madras using domestically produced technology on May 19. The complete end-to-end network, as per the minister, was conceived and constructed in India. He claimed it was an attempt to demonstrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to a self-sufficient India.

PM Modi To Launch 5G Test Bed To Mark 25 Years Of TRAI

PM Modi via video conferencing, will address a programme marking the silver jubilee celebrations of the establishment of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), on May 17. He will also launch the 5G Test Bed, developed at a cost of over Rs 220 crore. 22-Year-Old Engineer Dies At IIT Madras Campus; Police Suspects Suicide

A 22-year-old engineer was found dead on July 2 inside the campus of IIT Madras. According to police, the deceased has been identified as Unnikrishnan and was working as a project assistant at the University. “He has left a note saying he was unable to cope with work,” said an official. However, preliminary investigation suggests that it was a suicide. Besides, the body has been sent for post-mortem.
