IIT Mandi Professors Invents Low-Cost Early Landslide Warning Device
Duo professors from IIT Mandi have developed an indigenous, low-cost, and feasible device that can detect landslides when deployed over mountains. The need for this device arose when over 46 people lost their lives in a landslide at Kotropi in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh in 2017. Dr. V K Uday and Dr. Varun Dutt, the two IIT professors headed the research work and developed the device.

IIT Mandi Introduces 'Atuvik' Stove to Reduce Pollution; Prices Start At Rs 4500
To curb air-pollution and usage of firewood, The faculties of IIT Mandi, Himachal Pradesh have launched a new cooking stove, 'Atuvik'. The product is primarily developed for regions at higher altitudes. The affordable cooking stove, which is priced between Rs 4500-Rs 10,000, helps to increase the availability of oxygen for combustion. The product has won a social innovation award and support from the state government as well.
