Baba Ramdev Slammed By SC, Asked "Why Criticise Modern Medication?"

Supreme Court bench led by CJI NV Ramana slammed Baba Ramdev for insulting other medicines and their uses. On August 23, the Top Court was reviewing a petition filed by the Indian Medical Association against Yoga Guru Ramdev baba for criticising other modern medications. "it is better he must restrain (from) accusing the other systems," said the bench, ordering Baba Ramdev, who gain popularity for Yoga, to stop such campaigns.

India Reports 798 Doctors' Deaths In The Second Wave of COVID-19

Indian Medical Association (IMA) has confirmed the death of 798 doctors during the second wave of COVID-19 in India, as per its official report released on June 29. Delhi reported a total of 128 deaths, followed by Bihar at 115 and UP at 79. Whereas, Puducherry reported the lowest count with only one death. The devastating news has come two days before India celebrates National Doctors Day on July 1.

#ArrestRamdev: Yoga Guru Challenges Authorities To Arrest Him

Responding to #ArrestRamdev over Twitter, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev was witnessed challenging authorities to arrest him. In the 40-second video, Ramdev was heard saying, "khair arrest to unka koi baap bhi nahin kar sakta Ramdev ko". This comes after the IMA had urged PM Narendra Modi to prosecute Ramdev under sedition for his attacks on allopathy. The IMA also served Ramdev Rs1000 crore defamation notice.

COVID-19: Centre Rejects IMA Demand To Vaccinate All Above 18 Years

The Health Ministry on April 6 rejected Indian Medical Association’s request to give COVID-19 jab to anyone above 18 years. The ministry cited that the current vaccination plan is being implemented to minimise deaths. It added that currently people above 45 are being vaccinated as their mortality rate accounted for 88% of total deaths. "The objective... is to vaccinate those who need it," said the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan.
