Red, Orange Alert In Many Areas Of Maharashtra Due To Heavy Rains, Schools-Colleges Closed Till July 16

Due to the heavy rain forecast for July 14, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Satara, Amravati, and Thane. Amravati, and Thane. For Palghar, Nashik, and Pune, a red alert has been declared. Schools and institutions in Maharashtra's flood-affected districts will stay closed till July 16, except for government agencies performing vital duties.

IMD Forecasts Minor Chance Of Rain & Thunder Throughout Week: Delhi

Delhi experienced overnight rainfall and strong winds on May 24. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts gloomy skies with a minor chance of precipitation and thunder in the week. "The heat will return once the impact of this Western Disturbance is over," stated a senior IMD scientist. After more than two months, Delhi experienced moderate to heavy rains on May 23.

Rain Forecast In Northwestern India, Except West Rajasthan, During Next 5 Days: IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted a heatwave in West Rajasthan for the next five days. An extratropical weather system moving in from northern Pakistan caused rain-bearing clouds to develop, bringing rainfall to areas of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh. On May 24, the IMD forecasted thunderstorms with hail in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, as well as gusty winds in North-Western India.

IMD Predicts Thunderstorms & Mild Rain In Delhi Over The Next 3 Days

Thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain were forecasted by India Meteorological Department (IMD) for the Delhi-NCR region, as well as surrounding regions in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. On May 20, parts of Delhi saw light rain and strong breezes, which persisted for a second day on May 21. IMD stated, "Wet spell over Northwest and East India during May 21 to 24 with peak intensity on May 23."

Heavy Rain Forecast In Kerala For The Next Five Days: IM

Indian Metrological Department (IMD) announced orange alert in six districts of Kerala on May 15. Delhi Records Highest Single Day Temperature, Details Here

According to IMD, Delhi recorded the highest single-day temperature of 39.9 degrees Celsius at the Pitampura monitoring station. In addition, Delhi registered a maximum temperature of 36.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum was at 19.8 degrees Celsius. The temperature was 4.5 degrees high against the normal temperature in states such as Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, and Rajasthan, as reported by IMD.

Kerala Expects Heavy Rainfall; IMD Issues Orange, Yellow Alert 

Expecting heavy rainfall in the Kerala region, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued 'yellow' as well as 'orange' alert on June 15 & 16. Several districts in the state such as Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasargod districts have been issued an orange alert. However, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Alapuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram and Wayanad districts have been alerted for yellow.
