Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that the Delhi Drainage system is not designed to tackle such heavy rainfall and waterlogging situation. Notably, the national capital witnessed heavy to very heavy rainfall, breaking the rain record of 41-years. The AAP leader chaired a crucial meeting to discuss the measures and other possibilities to tackle the waterlogging situation and other issues. Moreover, the IMD issued an orange alert amid rainfall.

Heavy Rainfall Alert In North Indian States, IMD Says 40 Years Record Broken
North Indian states including the national capital received heavy to very heavy rainfall, killing people in the past few days. The iMD issued an orange alert and asked people to be cautious with the rainfall, which has allegedly broken the 40 year old record. The IMD said a western disturbance prevailed over northern India, leading to an intense spell of rain in north Indian states like Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, J&K and Delhi.

Overnight heavy showers lash Delhi-NCR, orange alert issued for the weekend. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Delhi and its surrounding areas for the weekend. The department says moderate to heavy showers would lash the city for the next two days. Notably, monsoon has covered the entire nation earlier, and many states and cities like Rajasthan , Kerala and Mumbai and Telangana are on alert.

Telangana To Witness Monsoon With Delay, Expected By June 26

While most of the regions would witness rainfall on June 21, the entire state will be covered in monsoon season, by June 26.
