Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge is all set to kick-start Indian National Congress (INC) Presidential election campaign, from Gujarat, on October 7. Congress MLA from Telangana Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy submitted his resignation as MLA and Party membership on August 8. He gave the letter to Telangana Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and announced to join the opposition BJP. Notably, the resignation was in the view of appointment of A Revnath Reddy as TPCC President. Reddy is set to join the BJP in the presence of Union HM Amit Shah on August 21. 

Union Minister Smriti Irani took a dig at the Wayanad MP and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, over repeated adjournments of the Parliament. The Congress party officials confirmed that Party President Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to ICU, at  Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi. On June 12, she was taken due to COVID-related issues and is said to be under stable condition. Randeep Surjewala, the INC Spokesperson said, "She is stable and will be kept at the hospital for observation". Recently, Gandhi was diagnosed with COVID-19 and was under home isolation.
