Hubli Stone Pelting Incident: 146 Persons Arrested Including Another AIMIM Leader
As many as 146 people have been booked over the Hubli stone pelting incident. Among those arrested was AIMIM political leader and the Hubli unit president, Dadapeer Betgeri. It is known that out of the 146 persons, around 145 of the accused have been sent to Hubli, Ballari, Dharwad, Mysore, and Kalbugri jails. All of them would reportedly remain in judicial custody for more than one month.

Thanjavur Temple: 11 Dead Due To Electrocution, Probe On
A probe is underway after eleven people died due to electrocution at the Appar Swami temple in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, during a procession. Commenting on the tragic incident, the Inspector General of Police (Tiruchi Range), V Balakrishnan, noted that an investigation has already been initiated, following the registration of an FIR. Besides, Chief Minister MK Stalin has announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakhs, for the victims' families.

Fire Breaks Out In Manesar; 1 Dead, 2 Injured
One person died while two others suffered injuries after a fire broke out in Gurugram, Haryana. Ramesh, one of the fire officers, shared, "Ninety percent of the fire has been doused, and the situation is under control." Over thirty-five fire brigade vehicles were rushed to the spot. Earlier last week, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) had described the dumping sites in the national capital and other cities as "time bombs."

Police Constable Shoots Himself With Police Rifle In Mumbai; Situation Critical
A constable of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) on-duty shot himself with his service rifle in the morning on January 25 in Mumbai. Identified as Pushkar Sudhakar Shinde (36), the constable was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, after the incident took place, where his condition is said to be critical. Police said that Shinde was inside a van, when he fired himself with a rifle.

Tow Tug Catches Fire At Mumbai Airport, Narrow Escape For Flight
A tow tractor in Mumbai airport suddenly burst into flames on January 10, at 10:46 am. An Air India Flight, AI-647 was being readied to depart for Jamnagar, fire broke out, following which fire services were rushed to the spot. The aircraft stood some feet away from the burning vehicle and was not damaged. As per a statement, the flight departed about 20 minutes behind schedule.

Massive Fire Breaks Out At Godown In Mustafa Bazar: Mumbai
A massive fire broke out at a wooden godown in Mustafa Bazar area of Mumbai, during the morning of January 10, at about 05:30 am. As per sources, ten fire fighters were rushed to the spot to control the fire. No casualities have been reported from the incident and the cause of fire and the damage caused is yet to be ascertained.

1 Killed, 2 Injured In Gas Leak At Ghatkopar Mumbai
In a tragic incident, one person died, while two others were hospitalized after inhaling gas leaked in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area in the morning of January 10, an official said. He said that the incident took place at Kurla Industrial Estate in Narayan Nagar, when methanol and cyanuric chloride leaked there. The cause of the gas leak was not immediately known, the official added.

Rockslide In Brazil Leaves 6 Dead & Several Others Injured
About six people died, 32 others were injured, and 20 went missing after several giant rocks collapsed from a canyon and fell onto four boats in Brazil. The incident took place on January 8, when large rocks fell from canyon that surrounds Furnas-Lake. Earlier, heavy rains were recorded during the morning, due to which some geologists believe that waterspouts may have caused the rocks to fall.

House Collapse Incident In Begumpur Kills 2 People: Delhi
At least two people died and a few injured after a house collapse incident in Delhi's Begumpur area. The incident happened during early hours of January 7. Getting into the details, the Fire Service of Delhi confirmed two deaths, two rescued, one with severe injuries, and other with minor bruises. The injured people are being treated at Ambedkar Hospital, in Delhi.

5 Killed, 9 Missing After Landslide In China's Guizhou Province
In Bijie City of China's Guizhou province, five people were killed and nine others went missing in a landslide incident that hit a construction site, authorities informed on January 4. Reportedly, the landslide occurred at around 7 pm on January 3. Meanwhile, eight people were rescued, with three of them stable in hospital, while five others were declared dead. Rescue teams are searching for missing people, reported ANI.
