Delhi AQI Worsened To Very Poor Category In Delhi

In Delhi, the Air Quality Index (AQI) worsened to "very poor' category, raising concerns. Visuals from India Gate and Kartavya Path showed the extent to which smog had engulfed the city on October 23 morning. Furthermore, on October 22, Delhi AQI reported at 306, while the AQI in Gurugram was in the 'Poor' category. The Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi Government issued advisory and plan to curb the AQI worsening quality.

Delhi Police Cordoned Off India Gate Amid Wrestler's Protest

A day after the country’s top wrestlers announced a plan to launch an indefinite hunger at India Gate, the Delhi police cordoned off the memorial and barred public entry to the lawns. The wrestlers said they will intensify their protest and sit on hunger strike until death, demanding the arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the WFI President. The wrestlers also gave a five-day ultimatum to the GoI, demanding action.

PM Modi will unveil grand statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose near India Gate in Delhi. On September 8. The statue stands at 28 feet tall, and is made from jet black granite. The statue reportedly weighs 65 MT, which has been skilfully carved from a monolithic block of granite weighing 280 MT. Reportedly, the statue is hand sculpted using traditional methods.

Indian Navy Unfurls World's Largest National Flag In Mumbai: Navy Day

Celebrating National Navy Day, the Western Naval Command unfurled the world's largest national flag at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai on December 4. It also overlooked Mumbai's iconic Gateway of India. The flag was made of Khadi by the Khadi and Village Industries. Reportedly, the flag measured 225 feet in length, 150 feet in width and weighed around 1,400 kg.

Delhi Police Issues Traffic Diversions For R-Day Parade Rehearsals

Ahead of Republic Day parade rehearsals, Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory on January 16 regarding traffic restrictions. The rehearsals are scheduled to take place from January 17-21 from Vijay Chowk up to 'C' Hexagon crossing near Rajpath, India Gate. Closing entries to Rajpath from Vijay Chowk and India Gate, the traffic will be restricted at Rafi Marg, Janpath and Man Singh road from 9 AM-12 PM on aforementioned days.

Delhi: Jantar Mantar Sees Huge Protest On Oct 2 Against Hathras Incident

The protest that was earlier scheduled at India Gate, shifted to Jantar Mantar and hundreds of protestors gathered there on October 2 to demand action against the Hathras culprits. CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechuri also joined the protest, which was organised by Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad. "Our demand is that justice should be served," Yechuri said. Reportedly, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal will also be joining the protest.
