India Denies Reports Claiming India Halted Free Trade Talks With UK

The Indian administration denied to halt trade talks with the United Kingdom and termed the news as 'baseless.' As per sources, British media claimed that India halted free trade talks with the Britain Government after the recent attacks at the Indian High Commission in the City of London, amid Khalistani Movement.  "Indians don't want to talk about trade until they get a very public demonstration of the condemnation of Khalistani".

UK Issues Statement Regarding Attack On Indian High Commission

The UK will review the security at the Indian High Commission here following "unacceptable" acts of violence by pro-Khalistan protesters, said Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.  Concerned about such incidents, the UK Government warned of strict action and said, they have taken these matters "very seriously" and would "robustly" respond to such incidents. They would also adapt changes needed to ensure the security of the mission's staff.

PM Modi Not To Attend G-7 Summit In UK As India Struggles With COVID

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cancelled his visit to the United Kingdom for the G-7 summit as the COVID-19 cases in India continue to mount. The spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs on May 11 stated that the PM will however deliver his address through a virtual session. Reportedly, two members of India's delegation attending the G-7 summit were tested positive for COVID-19 recently.
