S Jaishankar Remark For Rahul Gandhi's Statement Against India Abroad
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, for badmouthing the Indian Government abroad. He criticised Gandhi, saying he has a habit of criticising India abroad and it is not in the interest of the country to take its internal matters to the outside world. The minister said, "The world is watching us". He further added, "Rahul Gandhi has a habit of criticising India abroad."

India Surpass China And Becomes Most Populous Country In World
Now, India is the most populated country in the world, after surpassing the record of China. As per the data released by the United Nations, with an estimated population of 1.4286 billion (142.86 crores,) India has taken the top spot on the UN list of the most populous countries, overtaking China’s population of 1.4257 billion (142.57 crores). If continuing with the population, India would need a law to control birth.

India Registers Over 800 Cases Of Coronavirus
In India, the daily Covid-19 cases are rising again, with over 800 new cases. On March 18, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) confirmed that India registered highest number of cases in over four months. The nation reported, With 841 fresh infections, the active caseload has now climbed to 5,389. This is the first time in the past four months, that nation registered a high number of Coronavirus cases.

Pondicherry Schools Will Remain Close Amid H3N2 Cases Rise
Amid rising H3N2 cases, all schools for classes 1 to 8 in Puducherry will remain closed for 10 days starting tomorrow. In a circular, "All schools in Puducherry to remain closed from 16th to 26th March in wake of the spread of H3N2", Puducherry Education minister A Namassivayam told reporters. The decision was taken following reports of children falling sick owing to the H3N2 subtype of seasonal influenza.

SC Refers Same Sex Marriage To 5 Bench
Supreme Court reviewed the sam sex marriage issue, and referred all the pleas on same-sex marriage to a five-judge Constitution Bench. The case will be heard on April 18, confirmed sources.
