In Rajasthan's Suratgarh Air Force space, a mig fighter jet crashed in the morning hours. The incident occurred during its routine morning sortie in which pilots reported safe, three civilians died in the accident. In non-stop 24 hours flights, the Indian Air Force (IAF) rescued another batch of Indian nationals stranded in war hit Sudan. As per sources, in this IAF trip, the Indian air force officials flew the G-17 Globemaster-III aircraft and rescued Indians. An Indian Army Cheetah Helicopter crashed near Mandala, Arunachal Pradesh, on March 16. The helicopter was performing an operational sortie near Bomdila, when it was reported to have lost contact with the air traffic control (ATC.) Search parties have been organied, and operations are underway to look for the crew in the helicopter. Furthermore, this is not the first time such tragic crash was reported in AP.

The Union Civil Aviation received a bomb threat in an Iranian-origin aircraft, Mahan Air flight headed to Guangzhou in China from Tehran in Iran, scheduled to cross over the Indian airbase. Amid the threat, and refusal of landing in India, Indian Air Force Su-30MKI fighter jets from Punjab and Jodhpur airbases were scrambled to intercept the plane, which avoided landing. Moreover, the nature of the threat call is unclear.

Marking the historic 75 years of Independence Day, on August 15, the Defence Forces of India are celebrating the 76th Independence Day.  As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), commemorative visits are being undertaken by Indian Navy ships to foreign ports on every continent (except Antarctica).  Furthermore, the Indian Air Force also celebrates the event at air bases.
