Academic Calendar 2023-2024 Of Jamia Released

In an official notification, the registrar released the academic admission for Jamia Millia Islamia University and Central University.  The academic calendar of the Central University, 2023-24 was released, according to which, the admission process for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes will begin on April 12 and till July 31 2023. Interested candidates can apply and log into the official website and get further details.

UGC NET Admit Card For 2023 Releases, Download

The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC) NET December 2022 admit card has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). All the candidates can download the UGC NET Admit Card 2023 December from the official website -- ugcnet.nta.nic.in by using their application number and date of birth. UGC NET December 2022 Phase-III will be held between March 3 and March 6, 2023.

Industrialist Niranjan Hiranandani Is New Chairperson Of Advisory Council Of Mumbai University

Industrialist Niranjan Hiranandani, who is also the Provost of HSNC University, has been appointed as the chairperson of the Advisory Council of the University of Mumbai. According to Maharashtra University Act 2016, an eminent industrialist can be appointed as the Chairperson of the council. The other members of the advisory council include Dr. Anil Sahasrabuddhe, Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, Mrs. Sujata Saunik and Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar.

DU Announces 2 Seats For Orphans In UG, PG From Next Academic Year

The Delhi University announced to offer of two seats each under supernumerary quota to orphans in all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from the next academic year.  In addition, the DU Administration also announced that such students will also be exempted from payment of any kind of fees, after a varsity's Executive council meeting held on February 3. The Welfare Board of College will bear the expense.

NEET MDS Application Correction Window Open Till Feb 5

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) will open the online application window for the candidates who have already registered for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Masters of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS). The NBE said, the application correction window will be activated at 3 pm and will be open till February 5, for corrections in the application. IIT Kharagpur successfully concluded its 64th edition of Spring Fest 2023. The fest was entertaining with events in genres like dance, music, art, panel discussion, quiz and several other events. Sponsored by Royal Enfield, Paytm, Jio and other brands, the fest witnessed a massive footfall of over 50,000 audiences and the participation of over 200 Indian colleges. The event is said to be a historic fest amongst Indian colleges.

Exam Cancelled, Pvt School Manager Arrested Following Question Paper Leak: UP

A private school manager was arrested in connection with the English question paper leak case on April 2 in Uttar Pradesh. The police identified the man as Bhanu Pratap Singh. "He is accused of sharing the leaked question paper. His role in leaking the question paper is also being looked into," the DSP said. As a result, the English examination is currently cancelled in 24 districts of the state.

Naveen Failed To Get Medical Seat Despite Scoring 97% In PUC: Father Over Son’s Death

Father of Naveen, the medical student who died in Ukraine, lashed out at the Indian education system,  especially in medical field. "Despite scoring 97% in pre university course (PUC) my son couldn't secure a medical seat in the State. To get medical seat one has to spend crores of rupees and students are getting same education abroad spending less money". On March 1, the Indian Government confirmed Naveen's death.

Rural Schools Shut Due To Poor Enrollment: Odisha

The Odisha government has been on a mission to close schools with poor student enrollment for years. Almost 200 schools with low student enrollment were closed in 2014. In 2019, close to 1,000 schools were closed. In reality, the state administration had intended to close over 14,000 schools in stages, but the figure was reduced to half last year when the Right to Education (RTE) Forum and opposition parties took up the cause.
