Jharkhand Govt Orders Investigation Into Pre-Metric Scholarship Scam
Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has ordered an investigation into the 'pre-metric scholarship scam' uncovered by a newspaper report. Reportedly, a nexus of middlemen, school-staff and government employees siphoned off the funds allocated for scholarships for minority students by the Centre. Railways Contributes Most Among PSUs To PM-CARES From Staff Salaries
RTI records have revealed that PM-CARES fund received Rs 157.23 crore from the staff salaries of 50 Union Government's departments. Railways emerged as the top contributor with Rs 146.72 crore, followed by Space Ministry (Rs 5.18 crore) and Environment Ministry (Rs 1.14 crore).
