Centre Bans Supply Of Oxygen For Industrial Purposes
The Centre has decided to ban the supply of oxygen for all industrial purposes from April 22. The decision aims to meet up the demand of medical oxygen in COVID facilities across the country. Coal Use In Mumbai Industrial Clusters Degrading Air Quality: Study
Air quality in Mumbai has been severely affected due to coal usage in industrial areas, revealed a study by Centre for Science and Environment. 4 Maharashtra Industries Ordered To Shut For Polluting Rivers
The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has ordered four industries to shut down for causing pollution in the Ulhas and Waldhuni rivers. Moreover, the MPCB has also issued a show-cause notice to the concerned municipal authorities for inadequate pollution management and damaged pipelines. Reportedly, the order came after an environmental group 'Vanashakti' filed a petition in the Apex Court about the pollution in the rivers.

Karnataka: 4,000 People Lost Jobs In 3 Years Due to Industries Closing Down
Karnataka government's data has indicated that 31 large and medium industries in the state have closed down in the last three years. The data revealed this has caused over 4,000 people losing job. Reportedly, 19 out of the 31 industries belonged to northern Karnataka. However, Karnataka Industries Minister Jagadish Shettar said that the industries had their own reason to close and it has no connection with the state policies.

Karnataka Government to Launch Dedicated Website to Help Industrialists
Karnataka Major and Medium Industries Minister Jagadish Shettar has announced that the state will be launching a dedicated website to help the entrepreneurs in industrial sector. He said that the launch was aimed at attracting investments. WB Government To Extend Developing Industrial Parks up to Hundred
WB government has decided to set up 100 business parks in the state to generate employment. State Home Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay, stated, under the 'West Bengal Incentive Scheme-2014 for government approved Industrial Parks', 14 parks were already being developed and the number is now extended to 100, to increase job opportunities in MSME sector. The move came in response to criticism of 'failing to attract investments'.

Emergency Response Centre For Chemical Accidents Inaugurated in Odisha
On September 9, Odisha's first Emergency Response Centre for Chemical accidents was inaugurated in Paradeep, Jagatsinghpur. Inaugurating the centre, the District Magistrate, SK Mohapatra said that such a centre was required as there are many chemical factories in Paradeep. "This centre will help the factories if any mishap happens", he added that the centre is well-equipped with all the required facilities.
