Children Born Out Of Void Marriages Entitled To Parents' Property: Supreme Court
The Supreme Court ruled that children born out of void or voidable marriages are entitled to get a share in the property of their parents. The ruling is applicable only to Hindu joint family properties governed by Hindu Mitakshara Law, the top court clarified. The verdict was given by a three-judge bench led by CJI DY Chandrachud in reference to a two-judge bench judgment in Revanasiddappa vs. Mallikarjun (2011)

CJI DY Chandrachud Announces SC Expansion On I-Day

Relief For Adani As Ex SC Panel Ruled Out Any Irregularity
In a major relief for Adani Groups, the former Supreme Court judge panel said there is no regulation in market. In the recent development after the Hindenburg report, the SC asked the Security Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to complete the investigation and submit a report. The ex-SC panel also said there was evidence of a build-up in short positions on Adani Group stocks ahead of the US report.

SC Allows Jallikattu Festival Celebration In Tamil Nadu
The Supreme Court upheld the Tamil Nadu legislation that allows Jallikattu event, a cultural festival celebrated in the southern state. The Apex Court bench of five judges comprising Justice KM Joseph said that bull-taming sport is part of “cultural heritage” and passed a unanimous verdict. The court said it is satisfied based on the materials put before it that Jallikittu is being practised in Tamil Nadu for a long time.

Supreme Court Gets 2 HC Judges, Total Strength Regains At 34
Justice Rajesh Bindal, currently Chief Justice of Allahabad HC and Justice Aravind Kumar, Chief Justice of Gujarat HC, have been appointed as the Supreme Court (SC) judges. With this new addition, the total strength of the Apex Court judges increased to 34. "As per the provisions under the Constitution of India, Hon'ble President of India has appointed the judges of the SC, said Law Minister Kiren Rijijiu.
