IMA Demands Limited Working Hours For COVID-19 Doctors

Indian Medical Association demanded limited working hours for doctors amid the worsening "COVID-19" situation. The association asked the Central Government to limit working hours to eight hours and take extra precaution for "mental health" of resident doctors, working on COVID-19 patients. Ramdev Baba Approaches SC, Seeks Stay Over Allopathy Controversial

Aiming to seek a stay on proceedings in the FIRs against Ramdev Baba in the IMA branches of Patna and Raipur, upon his allopathy controversial comments, the yoga guru moved to Supreme Court. Alleged upon saying, "allopathy is a stupid science", IMA sent a legal notice to him and doctors observed a black day protest in May. However, the Health Ministry's order made Baba apologise and withdrew his comments.

IMA Requests PM Modi To Ensure Safety Of Doctors, Health Care Workers

As the incidents of violence against doctors are increasing, the Indian Medical Association on June 7 approached PM Narendra Modi to ensure the safety of the health care workers. The IMA has requested PM Modi to intervene "to stop the continuous and ongoing physical and mental assault on doctors." Besides favouring universal free vaccination program, it also asked to book those who were spreading false information about inoculation.
