Heavy Rainfall In Last 48 Hours Cause Flood-Like Situation: West Bengal

For the last 48 hours, the Asansol district has received heavy rainfall resulting in waterlogging and created a flood-like situation on September 30. In many areas, rainwater has reached six to eight feet height and has entered the houses of people which led them to move to the terrace of their buildings. IMD has stated that Odisha, West Bengal, and Gujarat may receive heavy rainfall in the coming days.

IMD Issues Widespread Rainfall, Thunderstorm In Bihar, UP

The Indian Meteorological Department claims the southwest monsoon to move slowly towards Delhi's neighbouring states, as trends did not suggest any sustained rainfall in the area. However, they predicted fairly widespread to widespread rainfall in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttarakhand in the next 24 hours after which the rainfall is expected to cease. Besides, IMD has warned of injuries ''to people and animals staying outdoors.''

Cyclone Yaas Likely To Landfall In May End: IMD Warns Bengal, Odisha

BThe Indian Meteorological Department has warned Odisha and West Bengal of Cyclone 'Yaas' which is expected to hit in May end.
