31-Year-Old India Origin Man Shot At In New York While Sitting In Parked Car

In the United States of America, New York, an Indian-origin man (31) was shot dead while sitting in a parked SUV down the street.  On June 27, the local media confirmed the news, saying 31-year-old Satnam Singh was in his car,  in the South Ozone Park section of Queens when unidentified people shot at him.  The New York police department registered a case and launched an investigation.

Indian-Origin Sunil Chopra Appointed As Mayor Of London Borough Of Southwark For Second Time

Sunil Chopra, an Indian-origin businessman, was voted mayor of the London Borough of Southwark for the second time on May 21. Chopra served as mayor from 2014 to 2015 and deputy mayor from 2013 to 2014, making him the Borough's first Indian-origin mayor. This win is significant because Indian-origin people make up barely 2% of the population of the London Borough of Southwark Council.

Justin Narayan, a 27-year-old Indian-origin man bags MasterChef Australia 13 trophy, 2021 on July 13. Narayan claimed the trophy with a $250,000 (Rs 1.86 crore) cash prize beating Pete Campbell and Kishwar Chowdhury. Sharing his win on Instagram, Narayan said, ''I Just won MasterChef Season 13. What the actual heck? It's a surreal feeling.'' Notably, the Indian-Origin Sashi Cheliah also won the title in 2018.
