Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday once again surprised people by visiting a Railway station here and interacting with the porters to know their concerns. Gandhi arrived at Anand Vihar Railway station to talk to the coolies and discussed the issues they face, the source said. The Congress leader's visit comes months after few porters urged him to meet them to understand their issues and work.

FIR Registered Against Udhayanidhi Stalin & Congress President's Son
An FIR was registered here against DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's son Priyank Kharge for allegedly outraging religious feelings, police said on September 6. CBI Files Petition In SC, Opposes Bail To Lalu Prasad Yadav In Fodder Scam
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) moved the Supreme Court (SC) challenging the bail of Lalu Prasad Yadav in the Fodder Scam Case. On August 18, the central agency filed a petition, which is expected to be listed soon before the SC Bench. Notably, earlier, the Jharkhand High Court granted bail to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo and former Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav in the Fodder Scam.

2012 Geetika Sharma Suicide Case: MLA Gopal Kanda Acquitted
Delhi Court on July 21 acquitted MLA and Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) chief Gopal Kanda in the 2012 Geetika Sharma suicide case. Sharma was an air-hostess in Kanda's Airlines. In her suicide note, she had said that she committed suicide because of harassment by him. Shortly after Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court acquitted the former Haryana Minister, Gopal Kanda addressed the media outside the court premises.

Oommen Chandy (79,) the former Kerala CM and veteran Congress leader died in the wee hours of July 18. He was suffering from throat cancer and died at private hospital in Bengaluru.
