A severe accident took place in UP's Hardoi in which the vehicles in the convoy of Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav collided against each other. The incident happened on February 3, in which Akhilesh Yadav escaped unhurt, but others in the convoy received injured. The leader was on his way to attend a wedding ceremony in Hardoi, said sources. Former Union Law Minister Shanti Bhushan passed away at 97, on January 31. Sources confirmed that Shanti Bhushan was not doing well and died at his residence in Delhi. PM Narendra Modi and other politicians expressed their condolences and grief to the bereaved family. Moreover, highlighting the political career of Shanti Bhushan, he served as the law minister in the Morarji Desai-led Janata Party government from 1977 to 1979.

Former CM of Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav is said to be in critical condition and has been undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital. On October 3, the Samajwadi Party sources confirmed the same, and said, Yadav has been shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) after his health condition deteriorated on October 2 night. The 82-year-old political leader is being treated since August 22.

MP Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar's daughter-in-law Savita Parmar (22) allegedly committed suicide at her residence in Shajapur district, confirmed police on May 11. Notably, Devraj Parmar's wife Savita died by hanging herself at 9 pm on May 10.  However, the reason behind the extreme step is yet to be known. Moreover, the final rites of Savita were conducted in her native village, Pochaner on May 11.
