Security Forces Kill Naxal In Encounter At Sukma Chhattisgarh
Security forces killed a Naxal in an encounter in Sukma Chhattisgarh on January 30, Sources said. They said that encounter started at 6.45 am, in Thimmapuram village, when a joint team of forces was out on patrolling. A police officer said that armed ultras opened fire on the forces, leading the encounter, following which the body of a male Naxal, clad in 'uniform' & arms were recovered from the spot.

Republic Day: High Alert Sounded By BSF On Jammu Border
A high alert has been sounded by Border Security Force in Jammu to foil any possible incident, ahead of Republic Day. In a statement on January 24, BSF said that in view of present scenario and inputs on Republic Day, security has been on high alert on border. The statement reads, "monitoring of suspicious activities is being carried, while joint patrolling is being conducted to avert any possible attempt".

Hindu Temples Under Possible Threat In Several Areas Of J&K
Security agencies suspect an attack on temples and Hindu-majority areas in J&K by Pakistan-based militant groups to create communal riots. The news comes days after 16 suspected militants were arrested with arms and ammunition, three drone drops, and intelligence input of few months. "The only purpose of such attacks appears to be to fan communal passions,” J&K police said. The development comes with the recent Afghanistan crisis.

On July 26, 1999, Kargil War was fought between India and Pakistan where Indian soldiers successfully reoccupied the Indian territories from Pakistanis. J&K: Indian Security Forces Neutralize Two Terrorists In Shopian District
Jammu and Kashmir security officials have informed that two terrorists were killed after a 'cordon-and-search' operation was launched on October 14 in the Chakura area of Shopian district. Reportedly, the terrorists opened fire at the security forces and an encounter broke out during the operation. The officials further added that the identification of the terrorists and their affiliated groups is underway.
