The news of Shami being Covid-19 positive, ahead of the T20I series against Australia, starting on September 20. While Shami tested positive for Covid-19, Umesh Yadav, who was supposed to undergo rehab for a quad injury in Bengaluru. Moreover, the two players were brought into the squad to play first T20I in almost two years.

Virat Kohli Rejects BCCI's Offer To Lead 100th Test Match In Bengaluru
After resigning as the Test Captaincy, on January 17, Virat Kohli turned down the offer of the BCCI to lead the 100th Test series, in Bengaluru. "One match makes no difference, that's not how I am," said Kohli, reported by Hindustan Times. On January 15, Virat Kohli announced to step down from Test Captaincy.
