Skeletons Of 282 Indian Soldiers From India's First War Of Independence In 1857 Found
Punjab University's Assistant professor in Department of Anthropology Dr JS Sehrawat, on May 11, said that skeletons of 282 Indian soldiers have been found during the excavation near Amritsar. Reportedly, the skeletons belong to the soldiers who participated in India's First War of Independence, in 1857. "These soldiers were revolting against the use of pork and beef greased cartridges," said professor Sehrawat.
