5 Bangladesh Nationals Sent Back Home After Treating For Mental Ailments

Five Bangladesh nationals were sent back to their country after recovering from mental ailment issues at Modern Psychiatric Hospital in West Tripura's Narsingarh on April 2. NLFT Kills Two BSF Personnel Along India-Bangladesh Border

In an ambush attack, two BSF personnel were killed by a terrorist organisation NLFT along the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura’s Dalai on August 3. The attack took place post 6:30 AM. Between the victims, one was a Sub-Inspector of the Force. "During the fierce encounter, Sub Inspector Bhuru Singh and Constable Raj Kumar sustained fatal injuries and lost their lives," said a BSF spokesperson.

STF To Investigate Chinese National Held On India-Bangladesh Border

The case of Chinese national Han Junwei, who was caught while crossing the international Indo-Bangladesh border, is likely to be investigated by the Special Task Force. A laptop, two iPhones, a Bangladeshi SIM, two pen drives, ATM cards, US dollars, Bangladeshi, Indian currency and a Valid passport have been recovered from his possession. However, the passwords to his phones and laptops are not able to be cracked so far.

2800 Kg 'Hilsa' Fish Smuggled From Bangladesh During Pandemic

BSF has confiscated around 2,800 kg of banned 'Hilsa' worth Rs 75 lakh from the Indo-Bangla border in the last 7 months. Hilsa, from river Padma, is sold at Rs 2500-3000/kg in the black market. BSF stated, smugglers infiltrate through riverine borders of Malda and Murshidabad at night. Bangladesh put a ban on its export eight years ago, known as 'Hilsa Diplomacy', amid sharing-dispute over Teesta river with West Bengal.
