Women inmates of Indore Central jail made organic Holi colours out of fruits, vegetables and flowers. The inmates adapted the new skill from the NGOs who visited them, said Alka Sonar, jail superintendent. Reportedly, the raw materials provided to them were grown inside the premises. Sonar further stated that the skills these inmates have acquired will be used to make a livelihood once they are out.

In MP's Indore, a social organization is working for developing skills for destitute and homeless squatters for their rehabilitation. The organization rescues people from temples, footpaths, and other places in Indore and provides training. Two medical students were caught allegedly trying to cheat with a Bluetooth device surgically implanted in their ear while taking an exam, in Indore. In addition, a "flying squad" of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya caught them in the final year exam at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College. Notably, one student had hidden a device with SIM in his vest, while another had a cell phone through which he made calls.

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on February 7, announced to set up Lata Mangeshkar Academy in Indore. The announcement was made during a routing plantation at Smart Park in Bhopal. "A museum shall also be constructed, a statue installed and a birth anniversary award instituted". Notably, Madhya Pradesh is the birth state of Lata Mangeshkar, who died on February 6, and was given state honours for final rites. 

Aumkareshwar Thakur, the creater of controversial "sulli deals" auction app, has been arrested from Indore, MP, on January 9. The Intelligence Fusion and  Strategic Operation (IFSO) and Delhi Special Cell made the first arrest in "Sulli Deals" case.
