Cross Border Infiltrations Gone Down During COVID-19 Pandemic: IG Sushanta Kumar

Border Security Force (BSF) Tripura Frontier IG Sushanta Kumar Nath stated that the cross border infiltrations have gone down owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. He said, "a total of 221 infiltrators have been arrested while attempting to cross the borders illegally." The number was reportedly higher in 2018 and 2019. IG Sushanta Kumar Nath further stated that the total seizures made last year were worth Rs 35.64 crore.

3 Soldiers Injured In Uri LoC While Stopping Infiltration Attempt

One Terrorist Neutralized In J&K Using Integrated Surveillance Grid

During an infiltration attempt in J&K's Poonch region, the security forces killed at least one terrorist. Lieutenant-colonel Devender Anand said that the soldiers who were on alert detected infiltration, using an integrated surveillance grid. "This action by alert Army troops displays resolve of Indian Army to thwart any misadventure along the Line of Control," he added.
