NASA's Tiny Helicopter Successfully Completes 12 Flights ON Mars
In a remarkable achievement, NASA's tiny helicopter, Ingenuity has successfully completed its 12 flights against the expected, it was estimated to fly only five times in Mars's atmosphere. However, the chopper is still working and is now helping NASA's rover Perseverance, which is another mission of searching ancient life on the red planet. ''We're doing better on the surface than we had expected,'' said Josh Ravich, the head of ingenuity's … read-more

NASA Celebrates Perseverance Rover's 100 Days On Mars
NASA'S Perseverance Rover on June 1 completed its 100 days on Mars. The rover was sent with an aim to search for signs of past microbial life, and investigate the planet's geology and climate. The rover had landed on February 18 over the Jerezo Crater, which is situated at north of the Mars's equator. It is also accompanied by 'Ingenuity' helicopter, the first to take a flight on another planet.

NASA's Ingenuity Ready For 1st One-Way Flight On Mars, 5th Lift-Off In Total
NASA's rotorcraft on Mars is ready to ascend for a fifth time on May 8, which will also be Ingenuity's first one-way flight. In its fifth attempt, the helicopter plans for a 110-second flight where it will aim for a record height of 33 metres for snapping images of the surrounding terrain. NASA, in Ingenuity's fourth flight, had already mapped the new landing spot.

Ingenuity's Fourth Martian Flight Delayed Due To Technical Glitch
NASA has postponed the fourth flight of its Mars Ingenuity helicopter owing to a technical glitch associated with its "watchdog timer", which is responsible for alerting it of surrounding dangers. The agency, however, assured that "the helicopter is safe and in good health" and said it failed to transition to "flight mode". Reportedly, it is the same problem that delayed Ingenuity's first flight from April 11 to April 19.

Ingenuity Nails Third Flight On Mars With Longest Distance, Highest Speed
In its third consecutive successful Martian flight on April 25, NASA's Ingenuity helicopter travelled the farthest on Mars, that too at a higher speed. The rotorcraft surpassed its test-flight speed, which it registered on Earth, and covered 50 metres at a speed of two metres per second in its 80-second-long journey. Making first flight on Mars on April 19, Ingenuity will be preparing for a fourth flight soon.

NASA Conducts Second Successful 'Ingenuity Helicopter' Flight On Mars
NASA's Ingenuity helicopter, on April 22, made its second successful flight on Mars, just two days after its first ascent into the thin Martian atmosphere. Reportedly, the helicopter spent 51.9 seconds in the air, 16 feet above the ground and accelerated seven feet sideways. The 1.8 kg heavy rotorcraft, in its first flight, reached a height of just 10 meters for 39.1 seconds.

NASA's Ingenuity Helicopter Ready For Its 1st Flight On Mars On April 11
NASA's Mars helicopter 'Ingenuity', which touched down the red planet with 'Perseverance' rover in February, is ready for its first flight on April 11. The light-weight rotorcraft will take-off vertically for a 30-second flight and will hover around its current location, taking 30 images/second to understand the site. Scientists claim, if the flight becomes successful, it will pave a way for future flights scouting land rovers to visit… read-more
