The co-main event featuring Leon Edwards and Nate Diaz has been rescheduled from UFC 262 (May 15) to UFC 263 on June 12 after the latter got injured during training. The first ever five-round co-main event has now been placed beneath the title fight between Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya and contender Marvin Vettori. Diaz's last fight was in November 2019 while Edwards squared-off against Belal Muhammed in March 2021.

Rajasthan Royals' pacer Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the remaining IPL 2021 due to a pertaining injury to his finger, confirmed the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Reportedly, Archer had pierced his right hand finger at home before the IPL began. However, ECB's medical team had managed the injury then. As of now, the board said that it would confirm which matches Archer would play next.

Killing five people including a nine-month-old baby and injuring 15, a speeding car rammed into a pedestrian area in the German city of Trier on December 1. Police have arrested the 51-year-old German driver and seized the vehicle. Reportedly, he was driving under the influence of alcohol, and the incident appeared to be intentional. Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan announced on October 21 that the team's star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo will not be playing the rest of the season owing to groin injuries. Earlier, in a match against Delhi Capitals, Bravo suffered an injury while fielding which required an immediate exit from the field. The 37-year-old cricketer played six games in the season scoring seven runs and picking up six wickets with an economy of 8.57.
UK's Andy Murray withdrew from the ATP Cologne 2 tournament in Germany on October 19 citing a lingering pelvic problem. The 33-year-old shared the news after losing to Fernando Verdasco in the first round of the event. After two hip surgeries in 2017 and 2019, Murray faced strains since the Davis Cup tournament last November. Murray said, “I will see you on the court soon” without mentioning his return date.

Novak Djokovic on October 7 entered the French Open semi-finals after beating Pablo Carreno Busta 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4. Djokovic overcame a bothersome left arm to defeat Carreno Busta. Djokovic said, "I didn't feel great coming into the court for the match but as the match went on, I felt better, didn't feel as much pain." He will face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semi-finals.

CEO of Tennis Australia, Craig Tiley, informed, on October 4, that Roger Federer will take part in the Australian Open 2021. According to reports, Federer had encountered a knee injury after the Australian Open 2020 and had to undergo two surgeries, owing to which he was unable to take part in major sporting events. Reportedly, the organizers of the Australian Open have started preparations for the event to be held in January 2021.

American tennis player Serena Williams dropped out of the French Open 2020 on September 30 after suffering from an Achilles injury. The 23-time Grand Slam winner announced her exit after advancing to the second round of the event. She had hurt her left Achilles tendon during the semi-finals of the US Open. “I think I need four to six weeks of sitting and doing nothing,” Williams said.
Canadian tennis player Bianca Andreescu withdrew from the French Open 2020 on September 23. “I have come to the difficult decision to skip the clay court swing this year,'' said Bianca. The 2019 US Open title winner has not played a match since WTA Finals in Shenzhen last year, where she retired after suffering knee injury. Andreescu shared that she is planning to focus on her practice for 2021, including the Olympics.
