India's COVID Inoculation Drive Becomes 2nd Largest In World; US 1st
India’s COVID-19 inoculation drive has jumped to the second position in the world: Both in the number of jabs given per day and the total doses administered. India has administered 29.74mn doses as of March 13. With 1.26mn doses administered on an average per day, India is now trailing only the US which is administering 2.5mn doses a day. AIIMS-Delhi Chief Says India Soon To Have 3-4 COVID Vaccines
AIIMS-Delhi chief Dr Randeep Guleria on February 27 said India will have 3-4 COVID vaccines in next few weeks and people will be having option to choose among the vaccination centres available. COVID Vaccination Drive For People Above 50 To Begin From March
The Centre has announced to expand the COVID-19 vaccination drive by initiating inoculation of the third priority group, comprising people aged 50 and above, from March. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said over 27 crore people will be vaccinated in the third priority group. He also stated that under the vaccination drive which started on January 16, around 5 million people have already been inoculated.
