Aakar Patel To Not Leave India Without Obtaining Permission: Delhi Sessions Court

Former Amnesty International India Chairman and activist Aakar Patel now can't travel abroad, without obtaining prior permission, said Delhi Sessions court, on April 7.  Notably, on April 6, CBI investigating officer (IO) stopped Patel from boarding a flight to the US, following which Patel's lawyer filed a petition, demanding an apology from the IO. Reportedly, Patel was given a lookout circular (LOC) by CBI.

108 Countries Recognizes India's Covid-19 Certificate For Travel: Govt

Almost 108 countries have recognized India's Covid-19 vaccination for travel purposes. Bharati Pravin Pawar, the Minister of State for Health, informed the Lok Sabha on December 10. Vietnam To Resume International Flight Operations From Dec 15

Vietnam Government decided to resume regular international flight services from December 15. Karnataka Govt Updates New Travel Guidelines: Omicron Threat

The Karnataka Government on December 7, issued travel guidelines amid Covid-19's variant Omicron threat. The updated guidelines for international & passengers traveling from Kerala & Maharastra include mandatory RT-PCR negative reports (72 hours prior to journey). However, the guidelines were announced after the State reported 2 confirmed cases of Omicron.

South Africa Returnee In Thane Tests COVID Positive; Omicron Test Underway

South Africa returnee tested positive for Covid-19 in Dombivali, Thane, Maharashtra.  The Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC) officials have collected his samples for genome sequencing, to identify if he is carrying Omicron, the new Covid-19 variant from South Africa, which is classified as "Variant of Concern" by WHO. The man returned from South Africa on November 25. Reportedly, he is undergoing a mandatory quarantine.

Karnataka Govt Issues Advisory, Postpones Gatherings Amid Covid-19 Case Rise

US Opens Borders For International Air Travelers

The United States Government on November 8, announced that the borders are open for international air travelers. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported in a statement, that foreign travelers must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and will be required to show negative test results at the time of boarding. Reportedly, the country has ended its air travel ban for 33 countries including India, as per reports.

New Zealand Plans To Ease COVID-19 Border Restrictions

New Zealand on October 28, announced that it would soon ease the Covid-induced restrictions for travellers which were imposed in march 2020. Travellers from the overseas who will be fully vaccinated will have to spend seven days in state quarantine facilities from November 14, said the government. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said that the country will soon end all of its restrictions once 90% of the population gets vaccinated.

Saudi Arabia To Welcome Fully Vaccinated Foreign Travellers

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has lifted the travel restrictions from foreign travelers from August 1. Reportedly, fully vaccinated people can enter Saudi Arabia along with a vaccination certificate and a negative RT-PCR report before 72 hours of arrival. Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khateeb said, “We welcome tourists again, and we are very happy to receive the Kingdom’s guests again after a pause".
