YS Sharmila Detained Amid 'Silent Protest' At Tank Bund
YSR Telangana Party President YS Sharmila was detained by the Hyderabad Police, on March 8. As per sources, Sharmila was holding a 'silent protest' with the party activists, when the city police arrested her. The protest was organised on the occasion of 'International Women's Day" to raise voices against crime against women in Telangana. She also blamed the Telangana Government for not taking action against the criminals.

Rajasthan CM Announces Free Bus Service For Woman
Ashok Gehlot, the CM of Rajasthan, announced a special offer for female citizens of Rajasthan. Marking the International Women's Day, the Congress-led Government announced free bus travel for a day to all women. The service started on March 7, and will continue till March 8. 'Claim Your Public Place' Kochi Police Spreads Message Assuring Women Safety
The Kochi police started a campaign, 'Claim Your Public Place', on March 8, International Women's Day. The campaign will last for 3 days from March 8-10, assuring women's safety and freedom for them to visit public places during late hours. KT Rama Rao Launches FLO Industrial Park On Women's Day 2022: Telangana
Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao, inaugurated State's first women owned FLO Industrial park, on International Women's Day, March 8. During inauguration, KTR said, the Rs 250 crore park is owned by women entrepreneurs, under the WE-Hub, an initiative to empower women. Free Entry For Women On Women's Day To Historical Monuments: Lucknow
The Lucknow district administration announced free entry for women to the historical monuments in the city, on March 8. "The Lucknow district administration and the Hussainabad Trust will give free entry to women in Chhota Imambara, and Bada Imambara," a notification issued by DM Abhishek Prakash. Notably, International Women's Day is a global day and also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

Women In Nepal Run Carrying Husbands On Back; Sets Example Of Equality
