Parliament Panel Adopts Report On Criminal Laws

A parliamentary committee on home affairs on Monday adopted three reports on bills to replace the existing criminal laws with some opposition members submitting dissent notes, sources said. The Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs, chaired by BJP member Brij Lal, met on Monday, nearly 10 days after members had sought additional time to study the draft reports circulated late last month.

Pune: 16-Year-Old Girl Raped, Paternal Uncle Arrested After Mother CatchesRed-Handed

In a disturbing incident, a 16-year-old was allegedly raped repeatedly by her uncle. The horrific incident from Pune came to light on October 24, when the victim's mother caught the accused red-handed with her daughter and registered a first information report (FIR) with the police. A case has been registered under IPC and POCSO Act, and he was arrested. The victim's paternal uncle allegedly raped the girl, twice.

Mumbai Police Raided Brothel In Girgaon, 33 Women Rescued

A raid was conducted in seven Girgaon brothels during which approximately 33 women were rescued from seven rooms. The brothels were located at Noor Mohammed Beg compound on VP Road. Those who were operating it have been booked under the PETA Act (Section 15), IPC 373 and 34. During the investigation, it was discovered that these women were being forced into the flesh trade.

Raipur: 6-Year-Old Girl Raped By Minor Boy, Case Registered

In another horrific incident, a six-year-old minor was raped in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Getting into the details, the incident occurred on September 28, when a 14-year-old minor boy, allegedly the neighbour of the victim raped the girl. ASP Lakhan Patle, who is investigating the case said, the minor accused has been produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and a case is registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.)
