14 Year Old Girl Gang Raped By Minor Boys In Jharkhand
In Jharkhand, a 14-year-old girl was gang-raped by three minor boys, confirmed police on July 19. Getting into the details, the victim was alone at her house in Bokaro, when the accused, allegedly students of class V, VII and VIII, entered her house and allegedly gang raped her. The Bokaro police officials registered a case and arrested all the three accused under juvenile section of the IPC.

Punjab Man Drags Cop After He Signals To Stop: Chhandigarh
In a shocker, traffic police identified as Hardeep Singh was dragged on a car bonnet for 1 km after he signaled the driver to stop. As per CCTV footage, Mukal Motu and his friend Monu allegedly dragged the cop on Chandigarh streets. Hardeep Singh received serious injuries and filed a case against Motu and Monu. Both the accused have been booked and have criminal records on them.

Kerala Medical College Employee Arrested In Sexual Assault Charges
The Kerala Police arrested an employee of a medical college hospital in Kozhikode for allegedly sexually assaulting a patient while she was semi-conscious after undergoing surgery. Church Torched In MP Village, Case Registered Against Unidentified Goons
A group of unidentified people torched and defiled a church in Madhya Pradesh's Narmadapuram district, confirmed police on February 13. Sources said, locals found burnt furniture inside, walls blackened with smoke from the fire, and 'Ram' written on the wall inside the Christian prayer hall in Chauki Pura. The incident trigger outrage amongst the Christian community. Furthermore, a case was filed under Section 29 of the IPC.

Bengaluru Man Rapes & Murders 3-Year-Old, Arrested
A Bengaluru man who allegedly raped and murdered a 3-year-old minor has been arrested, confirmed Kamakshipalya Police Limits, on February 1. Notably, the victim's mother was a worker at a garment factory and was in a relationship with the accused. The accused reportedly raped and murdered the child, when her mother was at work on January 31. The police registered a case under the IPC sections and launched an investigation.

In Madhya Pradesh, police arrested Mahamandaleshwar Niranjani Akhada and Spiritual Guru Vairagyanand Giri Maharaj popular as Mirchi Baba on rape charges. On August 9, police informed that Mirchi Baba was arrested in a joint operation by Bhopal Police and Gwalior Crime Branch, from a hotel, after an elderly woman filed an FIR against him. As per the victim, Baba allegedly raped her by feeding her intoxicating food items.

Thane Man Arrested For Molesting Woman, Investigation Underway
In Maharashtra, Thane, a 43-year-old man has been arrested for molesting a woman on the school premises, confirmed local police. As per the complaint of the victim, the accused identified as Fiaz Lalmia Sayyed allegedly touched her inappropriately, when she was waiting to pick up her twin daughters and was waiting at the hallway. A case under section 354 of the IPC has been registered with the police.

Journalist Booked For Allegations Against VHP Leader Champat Rai: UP Police
Journalist Vineet Narain and others were booked by UP Police for a Facebook post made against Champat Rai, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader and the general secretary of the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. The post alleged the leader's involvement in a land grab case, after which Rai's brother filed a complaint against the accused for false allegations. ''The Allegations against Champat Rai appear to be baseless," said the Bijnor police.

Govt Plans To Amend CrPC, IPC To Boost Women's Safety: MoS Kishan
Focusing on strengthening women's safety in the country, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said the government would amend the Criminal Code (CrPC) and the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Speaking about installing fear of law in people, he pointed out that women's safety is of great importance to the Union Government. Bathinda’s 73-year-old Mahinder Kaur has filed a defamation case against Kangana Ranaut for misaddressing the latter as Bilkis Dadi of Shaheen Bagh. Mahinder, in her complaint, mentioned that Kangana has not even tendered apology after the incident. Besides, she claimed Kangana's social media post had harmed her reputation, and she faces mental tension and harassment from society. Reportedly, a hearing has been scheduled on January 11.
