IPL Franchise Huge Offer To International Players, Asks To Quit International Cricket
Owners of top IPL franchises are trying to convince as many as six premier England players to quit international cricket. The owners of the IPL teams asked the players to take up handsome annual contracts ranging up to 5 million pounds in order to play T20 leagues round the year. The report, however, doesn't state which franchise have approached and who are the players involved in the discussion.

Steve Smith Back In Action With IPL Team's 16th Edition
Australia's Steve Smith will make his debut as a commentator during the 2018 Indian Premier League, the tournament's broadcaster said on Tuesday, putting an end to speculation regarding his return to the sport. The 16th edition of the cash-rich Twenty20 extravaganza kicks off Friday in Ahmedabad, with 10 teams and a slew of worldwide stars in attendance. Smith, 33, confirmed his comeback to the competition and announced the same.

BCCI Reduces Ban Of RR PLayer Ajit Chandila To 7 Years
The BCCI Ombudsman Vineet Saran has reduced former Rajasthan Royal player Ajit Chandila's life ban. On February 21, Saran announced a reduction of a ban to 7 years, for his involvement in the IPL 2013 spot-fixing scandal. The three cricketers involved in that ‘spot-fixing’ scam – S Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Chandila were given a life ban. However, the bans of Sreesanth and Chavan were overturned two years back.

BCCI To Conduct Women's IPL In March 2023
Women's IPL will begin in March 2023, with a one-month window and five to six clubs, a top BCCI official announced on August 12. The IPL will be held after the Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa. "As of now, we are going ahead with five teams but it could be six as there is a lot of interest among potential investors," he continued.

You Don't Take Rest In IPL, And Then Take Rest Playing For India: Sunil Gavaskar
Senior players can play IPL nonstop, why can't they play for the country, said legendary player Sunil Gavaskar, on July 12. In an urge to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to handle senior players, who were asking for rest ahead of the crucial matches and revise the policy. Responding to this, Gavaskar said, "T20I is a matter of 20 overs, doesn't take toll on your body".

IPL Media Rights: With Per Match Value Of Rs 104 Crore, IPL Surpasses EPL, Trailing NFL
Indian Premier League (IPL) has surpassed the English Premier League (EPL) in terms of per match valuation, following the successful e-auction of IPL's media rights on June 12. Sourav Ganguly, president of Board of Control for Cricket in India, declared that IPL produces more revenue than EPL. The current per-match value of IPL is over Rs 104 crore ($13. 4 million), which is more than EPL, which generates $11 million.

Hardik Pandya Wins Player Of Match, Becomes 3rd Skipper
Gujarat Titans Captain Hardik Pandya won "Player of the Match" after his tremendous 2022 IPL Maiden win. On May 30, Pandya, who is the third Indian skipper in the IPL history won the title. He was honored with the title for his heroic game plan and all-rounder performance. Furthermore, the previous players who won the POTM are Anil Kumble and Rohit Sharma.

Following Mumbai Indians' five-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals on May 21, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured the fourth playoff position in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 points table. The eliminator between Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants is set for May 25 in Kolkata. The Gujarat Titans (GT), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have previously qualified for the IPL playoffs in 2022.

Police Arrest Alleged Bookie In Mumbai's Nashik: IPL Live Betting
In Mumbai's Nashik city, police arrested an alleged bookie for live betting during an IPL match. A team of Crime Branch, acting on a tip off, raided a flat in the Gangapur road area. Gurvindersingh Baldevsingh (28) has been arrested for taking bets on Mumbai Indians- Sunrisers Hyderabad match. From his premises, five mobile phones, a laptop and a notebook was recovered.
